Qualifications and Experience:
â¢ Appropriate academic qualification in safety, electrical/aeronautical engineering along with a specialized training in Aerodrome Safety & Certification.
â¢ A minimum of 10 years of experience in Aerodrome Operations and safety compliance
â¢ Minimum of 5 years as a civil aviation aerodrome safety inspector.
Skills and Competencies:
â¢ Reviewing new airport designs, preparing, approving Safety Management systems, aeronautical studies, airports emergency plan documents, and other related aerodrome safety and operations manuals.
â¢ Proficiency in technical writing, drafting and implementing rules and regulations, office procedures manuals relating to aerodrome inspection and certification.
â¢ Thorough knowledge of ICAO SARPS (Annex 14 and related documents)
â¢ Ability to focus on specific aerodrome safety concerns as they arise and to identify potential problems before they have an impact on safety.
â¢ Initiative, tact, sound judgment and ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
â¢ Sufficient skill in the use of computer applications.
â¢ Ability to conduct specialized technical training for Aerodrome safety and certification staff.
â¢ Languages: Command of the English language and proven ability in preparing inspection reports and similar documents.
â¢ Judgment/Decision Making: Ability to take ownership of all responsibilities and to honor commitments, to exercise mature judgment to recognize key issues and analyze relevant information, to make feasible recommendations.
â¢ Communication: Ability to write clearly and concisely and to present coherent verbal reports.
â¢ Team work: Ability to work with colleagues across various lines of business to achieve project goals and maintain harmonious working relationships in a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural environment.
â¢ Leadership: Ability to plan and guide the work of a technical team to identified priorities and adjust them as required.
â¢ Client Orientation: Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with external collaborators, to work and advocate effectively in a consensus-based system and to successfully manage and resolve conflict.
â¢ Commitment to Continuous Learning: Willingness to keep abreast of new technological and aviation industry developments.
