DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide supplemental support for plants with control system application programming including control logic and operator graphics.
Develop and implement process control improvements leading to improved plant operation.
Lead the development of standard methods for use in plants and lead effort to implement those standards.
Maintain contact with industry best practices for implementation in plants. Evaluates state-of-the-art technologies for potential use in assigned location.
Work with site personnel and external experts to monitor and improve the performance of site automation systems.
Support reliability team activities.
Offer technical assistance for business development projects.
Evaluate third party opinions and summaries and weigh options for related courses of action.
Act as subject matter expert for reviews on changes to the coking process and control systems.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Minimum of five years of work experience in an industrial setting. Work experience implementing control strategies in operating facilities. Ideal background would be out of chemical plants, power plants, oil/gas refinery, related. Ability to travel up to 40% to plant sites.
Control and automation application programming in an operating environment is required.
Control system design and implementation with one of the following control systems
o Emerson Ovation
o ABB 800xA
o Modicon Quantum PLCs
o Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs
o Honeywell Experion PKS DCS
