Lead and manage cross business unit corporate development activities. These will include (but not be limited to) bids, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships and teaming agreements, new market or sector entry and product development.
Lead personally all business transformation opportunities and especially those where senior, credible representation is essential.
Identify potential targets for a merger or acquisition and, moreover, to work on the due diligence aspects of such opportunities,
Plan activity and to lead initiatives that will introduce company into new markets or will introduce new products and services to satisfy customers current and future requirements.
Develop and execute sector based business plans.
lead a significant program of bidding activity and to manage company response to the largest commercial opportunities for which it bids, This will include leading teams formed from within the business and its associates (as well as mobilizing any other necessary resources), assisting with the design of the content of the proposals, and acting as the final quality gate on all materials submitted to customers.
Pay particular attention to developing corporate programs that will facilitate an increased sales assault on the defense sector.
To assume direct responsibility for a team providing them with the direction, skills, resources and development they require. Furthermore, to manage and co-ordinate teams of external industry associates and advisors on specific projects drive high levels of activity amongst all these groups.
Build a detailed understanding of company, its products, services and capabilities, as well as of the markets in which it operates and of its major competitors. Utilize the information and insight thus gained to drive future corporate development activity.
Develop close working relationships with the various divisional and group managing directors across company and, though the application of ones knowledge and guidance, to become their trusted advisor on corporate development activities and on their long-term strategic plans.
Produce and provide forecasting, budgeting and other forms of reporting to senior management (including at group board level) as required
