Location: Libya Office Tunis, British Embassy Tunis
Reporting to: Deputy Head of Mission
Contract: Full-time, initially 1 year

The Libya Office of the British Embassy in Tunis has a vacancy for the position of Office Manager.

Objective:
The main purpose of the role is to provide support for the Libya Office Tunis across a range of issues meeting organisation and note taking, administration, fielding queries, travel arrangements in order to enable the smooth running of the Office to deliver its objectives of supporting a secure, stable and prosperous Libya. The job holder will also provide support on plans to reopen the British Embassy in Tripoli, but will not be required to travel to Libya.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a new role in the Libya Office Tunis. We are seeking a motivated, flexible, self-starting member of the team who will be able to oversee the organisation of the Office and provide support across the team. The work of the Libya Office Tunis is fast-paced and responsive to the ever-changing circumstances in Libya.

Key responsibilities will include:
-Acting as Personal Assistant to the Ambassador, managing his diary and travel schedule
-Making arrangements for meetings hosted by members of the Libya Office Tunis with external stakeholders, including occasionally taking minutes and other administrative support
-Coordination of transport needs for the team and line management of two drivers
-Assisting the Estates Manager processing payments related to the Libya Office Tunis properties and other estate administration
-Assisting the DHM and other Corporate Services team members with plans to reopen the British Embassy in Tripoli
-Coordinating arrangements for new members of staff joining the team including provision of IT and, for UK based staff, accommodation and arrival information

Qualifications/Experience:
-A Bachelor Degree in a relevant field
-At least 3 years of experience in administrative support
-Fluent in English and Arabic written and oral. French desirable
-Strong self-management and organisation skills.
-Commitment to delivering a high level of service.
-Can work independently
-Excellent team-working and inter-personal skills.
-Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Working Hours and Remuneration:

Conditioned working hours are 40 hours gross per week. Standard working hours are from 08:00 am to 16:30 pm from Monday to Thursday. 08:00 13:00 on Fridays. The Embassy is committed to ensuring that you are able to maintain a suitable work-life balance.

The Embassy offers a starting salary of TND 2723 rising to 3371 TND after successful completion of 3 month probationary period.

The appointment will be subject to satisfactory local and UK security clearances.
