Job responsibilities
*Integrate proprietary system solution with third party POS system

*Review the prevailing business process of the company, identify the areas needing improvement, and introduce changes to improve efficiency and productivity either by developing necessary software indigenously or by implementing third party software.

*Plan application development strategy in line with business requirements and provide the design specifications to the programmer Associates.

*Develop the systems including workflows as per the user specifications and templates and in line with the coding and VSS standards.

*Design and execute the test scenarios and test scripts

*Liaise with the business to ensure appropriate user acceptance testing is undertaken. Ensure appropriate handover is provided for the support team to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the application.

*Implement and maintain system solutions and organize its integration wherever necessary with existing systems to improve productivity and efficiency.

*Maintain and monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of all systems under purview including troubleshooting and first hand technical support to the users. Ensure all user logs are maintained and improvements suggested in the program if required.

*Conduct periodic quality checks and encourage feedback from business operations to ascertain successful functioning of business systems. Keep abreast of user issues and highlight key issues to the development team for requisite enhancements.

*Submit weekly status reports showing progress against outstanding milestones, status, issues, risks and dependencies

Candidate Profile Description Qualifications and Skills

MUST HAVE Knowledge of IBM Toshiba, Fujitsu, NCR POS systems

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH BIG SUPERMARKET IN UAE

Knowledge in supporting ORSS applications like ORPOS, ORBO and ORCO

Experience in other Oracle Retail products such as RESA, SIM, RPM and RMS

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science with hands-on experience on ORPOS (Oracle Point of Sale) implementations

Should be part of at least two or more implementations using Oracle POS (End to end experience of the project lifecycle)

Knowledge in the integration of ORPOS with third-party systems

Should have work experience in ORBO and ORCO

Experience in Java and J2EE technologies (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Web Services, and JMS)

Good Knowledge on PL/SQL and Oracle DB

Supporting, configuring, customizing, tuning and troubleshooting the POS applications

Knowledge of systems analysis and end user support gained through formal training or work experience

High technical acumen

Attention to details and concern for quality

At least 5 to maximum 10 years of experience

Excellent communication skills
