Job description for Project Manager:-
The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
Define project scope, goals and deliverables that will complete the project successfully within time and budget.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and Sales Managers in a timely and clear fashion.
Liaise with the Sales Manager on an ongoing/regular basis (daily or weekly or bi-weekly meeting, what works best with the Sales Manager) to update the status of the project. Once the Project Manager is handed the project, it is the Project Managers responsibility to execute & complete the project without involving the Sales Manager for the day to day site routine works.
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Also make sure that the participants have accommodation at site and means of transport from the site to accommodation.
Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
Keep track of Budget Available and Budget Spent.
Keep track of the deliverables of the project to ensure that the project is completed in due time. If deliverables are getting delayed, investigate, take necessary actions and resolve the delay to get the project back on timeline.
Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle, after receiving the approval from the HR Department.
Procurement of accessories (pumps, level switches, content gauges, level sensors, fill point cabinets, control panels, etc.) must be determined from the quotation and submitted to the purchase officer for price enquiry.
Keep track of material, which is yet to be purchased, already purchased, delivered to the site, used at site and returned back to store.
Keep track of consumable and machines, which are sent to the site, used at site, and returned back to the store.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
You will have 2 3 site engineers under you responsibility. Each site engineer will have 2 3 sites under his responsibility to take care of. It is your responsibility to ensure that the project is under control by regularly transferring information, analyzing the state of the project, visiting the site and checking on the progress by having regular meetings with your site engineer (frequency of meeting is left up to you).
Each site must be visited twice per week. Frequency can increase or decrease if agreed with the Sales Manager. Each site visit requires a report to be provided to the Sales Manager.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Develop and deliver daily progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, presentations, method statements, testing procedures, site visit reports and other project related documents to your site engineers.
Appropriate filing of the documents, method statements, risk assessments, etc. (any document required by the project).
Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans, however, before executing them get it confirmed with the Sales Manager.
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and the same has to be fulfilled by the Projects Manager.
Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
