The Job holder will be responsible for technically managing the ISS launch fleet and the managed fleet. The role mainly involves establishing working relations with various charterers, off shore principal construction companies, oil companies, government authorities and workshops related to boat repair. This further requires building relations with all ISS business streams and boat crews.
The job holder will manage all shore side work for all the ISS owned and operated vessels based at the AOR.The general work of the incumbent will include planning maintenance activities, managing subcontracted work and minimize system outages. He will work closely with ship, s chief engineers and shore based mechanics to facilitate work. May require travel to ship yards, vendor sites and other locations within AOR.
Managing the technical aspects of all ISS launch fleet by coordinating repair and maintenance functions in order to maximize revenue and reduce the cost of repairs.
Reviewing repairs request and compare requests with previous work accomplished on ships concerned and similar vessels to determine that expenditures are economically sound. Preparing recommendations for work and initiate procurement of materials. Inspecting machinery equipment to generate work request and obtain bids from contractors or shipyards to perform repairs .All in order to deliver timely and consistent service to stake holders.
Marketing the fleet to clients and developing services throughout the AG and evaluating purchase in order to increase revenue generation for the stream.
Ensuring safety consciousness of all launch crew and strict compliance to HSSE and ISO quality requirements.
Obtaining all documents and statutory certification pertaining to the navigation of all boats together with marine supervisor
Managing all Dry Docking, class and safety equipment surveys and workshop repairs for the boats.
Monitoring to optimize the consumption of all supplies, fuel, water and any other supplies that the vessel needs on a day to day basis.
Invoicing verification and monthly accruals for all the boats.
Contacting client and managing a close relationship with them on a regular basis.
Counselling, training and motivating the crew frequently or as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
At least 10 years of working experience in the Marine & Offshore
Excellent technical knowledge of vessels
Proven planning and organizing skills
Strong interpersonal and English communication skills
Execution of products/specialist knowledge
Keen awareness of current commercial and business strategies.
Effective negotiation and persuasion skills with acumen to solve problems (Desirable)
Experience Oil & Gas / Maritime Classification Societies / Ship-owners and other related Industry (Desirable)
Work experience in Maritime sector in Middle East Region (Desirable)
Strong network with charterers in offshore sector in the Middle East region (Desirable)
Minimum Bachelors in Marine Engineering degree from a reputable university
Competency certificate of chief engineer.
Good level of computer literacy
Conversant with requirement as per ISM (International Safety management) Code; STCW (Standards for training certification and Watch keeping)
MBA Degree (Desirable)
Ability to effectively manage and negotiate company projects such as shipyard overhauls.
Practical knowledge of mechanical engineering and naval architecture as they pertain to ocean going ships.
Familiarity with maritime statutory requirements.
