The job holder will be responsible for establishing & maintaining relationships with various offshore charterers across the Arabian Gulf ( AG) whilst ensuring revenue maximizations by optimal utilization of the ISS fleet vessels on charter. Responsible for taking the necessary decision that include cost maximization & reducing the downtime/off season impact.
As the Manager-Marine Logistics you will be managing a floating staff. The incumbent is also responsible for recruiting competent seagoing staff in line with company guidelines. This would include providing initial briefing/training as necessary.
Responsible for assisting in recruitment of officer rank crew for ISS vessels based in Middle East region and East Africa. The Role takes a lead in the general crew training, crew certification, rotation of crew, leave scheduling and keeping the crew motivated.
In- Charge of operations and vessel movements. He is also responsible for developing and or maintaining the acceptable standards for services, ensuring that services meet reliability and quality standards established by the company and customers.
Required to travel to clients offices, vendors sites etc. as per business requirements.
Based in Dubai and reporting to the General Manager, Dubai and NE. The Job holder will be responsible for managing (Commercial, Personnel and Operations) along with the ISS Owned and managed fleet vessels.
Marketing the ISS fleet to various clients and developing the offshore services throughout the AG. Evaluate and review the new clients/charter contracts together with the General Manager Marine Services in order to maximize the revenue generation for the department/stream.
To Recruit and train competent crew. Ensuring strict compliance of HSSE/all safety procedures by launch crew as per company policy manual. Closely monitor with company PRO for visa status of the crew and ensure timely issuance/renewal of all crew endorsements as per flag requirement. Manage crew rotation and leave schedule. Counselling and motivating crew frequently or as needed.
Establishing the working relationship with the existing clients with regular basis and ensure that high level of service standards are being maintained.
Attend enquiries related to Marine Logistics and provide the logistical support, cross charter along with support of third party vessels(Higher specifications, Tugs, supply vessels etc) to the various clients across AG region.
Responsible for vessels day to day operations and movements. Also responsible for developing and or maintaining the acceptable standards for services whist ensuring high level of service standards are established by the company and clients. Minimizing the operational costs.
Cost control with coordination with technical department. Closely working with Technical Manager and workshop team in all technical works during vessel dry docking, planned maintenance, unforeseen/unplanned incidents and breakdowns and class surveys to expedite the repairs in order to deliver the timely and consistent services to charterers/clients.
Ensuring all annual servicing/certification of safety equipment and navigational equipments together with Marine Supervisor.
Monitoring the supplies. Guiding and assisting the Marine Supervisor to ensure cost effective, quality procurement of monthly stores and other supplies that the vessel needs for day to day operations. Estimating and monitoring expenses to achieve cost effectiveness.
Ensures and follow up closely with Marine Supervisor for the drill and safety meetings records of the fleet. Also ensures that all records of all such drills should be available both at office/on board vessels whenever needed for inspection.
Personally supervise the drills and safety meeting on board each vessel at least once in three months.
Monitoring the statutory certification and all relevant documentation pertaining to the navigation of ISS vessels together with Marine Supervisor.
Evaluate the new statutory certification and all relevant documentation pertaining to the navigation of ISS vessels together with Marine Supervisor.
Evaluate the new joining deck officers (Captain, CH Officer and A/B) before confirmation (After the training period) and ensure the evaluation records available in office together with MS.
Organize and participate in quarterly quality meetings and give the updates of the objectives assigned to the department to RMQA and GM.
Providing accurate time and cost estimates/forecasts of current or proposed projects.
Timely dispatch of charter hire invoices in liaison with finance department
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 10 years experience in Shipping / Marine industry of which 5 years at managerial level
Extensive relevant senior maritime experience that covers Middle East offshore market and client base
Good understanding of ISM / ISO procedures and experience in training of personnel
Proactive, innovative attitude negotiation and persuasion skills with acumen of solving problems. Conversant with BIMCO contracts.
Excellent communication skills in English, other languages an advantage
Strong interpersonal & negotiation skills, able to deal with clients at a senior level
Strong interpersonal and communications skills. Ensuring good relations with customers and suppliers/sub-contractors/sub agents the AOR
Thorough knowledge of vessel specification (including technical) and clients needs
Computer literate and able to utilize analytical and presentation PC tools
Sea-going experience as Captain or Master Mariner (Desirable)
Proven sales and marketing records in offshore market (Desirable)
Strong Human Resource skills. Conversant with recruiting and effective people management (Desirable)
Degree or relevant education in the shipping industry
Excellent working knowledge of charter party rules and requirements.
