Abu Ahmed Meat Trading (âAAMTâ) is based in Dubai UAE and has been in business since 1984, serving clients across the Emirates including 5 star hotels with the highest quality of meat and poultry. We trade in fresh, chilled, and frozen meats (meat and chicken), supplying, storing, handling, and manually packing meat for a predominant Client base with over 40 five star hotels. We also sell retail meats to walk-in customers and home deliver as well.
With a wide range of different meat, lamb, and poultry cuts; we strive to set ourselves apart from the competition through high safety standards, high quality meats, exceptional relationships with our suppliers, and 24-hour responsiveness and agility to our Client requests. AAMT has operated from its Deira location since its opening, but is now expanding to a new operation location in Ras Al Khor.
We are seeking a Butcher (Meat Artist) for our AAMT Ras Al Khor branch.
The Meat Artist will provide integral support to our operations team and will report directly to AAMT Meat Artist Lead.
Ideal candidates for this role at AAMT have at least 3 years relevant work experience in meat cutting, carving, handling, packaging, and certified in Health requirements for handling meat products. Candidates with experience in F&B at hotels, culinary degree or equivalent education/experience, holders of basic food certificates and health & hygiene training are all encouraged to apply.
Tasks for this position will include:
â¢ Prepare various cuts of meat as required, including correctly preparing beef, lamb, and chicken cuts, and labeling the type of cut, date, and destination of meats.
â¢ Good knowledge of meat cuts, usage of machinery, and strict compliance to all health and safety and food hygiene procedures and processes.
â¢ Ensure that the meat prepared and finished product is of an excellent standard and complies to the clients order accurately.
â¢ Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
â¢ Weigh, measure, and do marination. Prepare food according to AAMT recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, food preparation checklist, and most importantly customer requirement.
â¢ Monitor food quality while preparing food. Set-up and break down work stations. Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Complete cleaning checklists. Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature.
â¢ Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery; ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
â¢ Learn the facilityâs fire and safety procedures and the operation of the kitchen firefighting equipment
â¢ Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Meat Artist Lead.
â¢ Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; protect company assets.
â¢ Perform other job duties as requested by Supervisor/Leader.
â¢ Qualifications in Butchery/Meat Trading & Handling experience is mandatory
â¢ High time management and prioritization skills and ability to produce results in high work demand; multi-tasks and works under pressure.
â¢ Ability to respond to questions from customers; good communication skills.
â¢ English or Arabic language.
â¢ Literate (reads & writes)
â¢ High school graduate or equivalent
â¢ Speaks with others using clear and professional language.
â¢ Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a butchery/meat trading.
