The Assistant Procurement Manager will support strategic procurement in the USA by driving cost savings, enhancing vendor relationships, and improving processes. The role requires autonomy in decision-making, expertise in RFx management, procurement analytics, and supplier negotiations, as well as the ability to influence teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Category Management: Oversee inland transportation procurement and maintain strategic supplier relationships.
Sourcing and Procurement: Support sourcing projects, develop cost models, and conduct market analysis for trucking and related services.
Data Management: Manage procurement data entry, accuracy, and reconciliation, ensuring high data quality.
Spot Sourcing: Address urgent procurement needs with timely and cost-effective solutions.
Cost Management: Benchmark costs against competitors and negotiate Service Level Agreements with suppliers.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with teams across North America and within Maersk to enhance cooperation.
Process Improvement: Contribute to procurement framework development and measure the benefits of procurement initiatives.
We are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree (MBA or similar is a plus).
3-6 years of experience in operations or procurement.
Strong analytical skills and experience in Excel-based modeling.
Experience with standard procurement processes (category management, sourcing execution, contract management, negotiation strategy, analysis of markets, finances, and suppliers).
